Funeral Homes In Orlando That Stood Out To Us

Mitchell Funeral Home

Created following the Mitchell Funeral Home Families’ values in the 1960s, Mr. Kenneth E. Mitchell, Sr. would open Michell Funeral Home following his graduation from college, as he always showed interest in the embalming and funeral industry. Mitchell would receive various accreditations as he continued to build his business. In 1985, Mitchell won the mortician of the year award, then in 1992 would go on to be awarded the Drum Major of the Year Award as well as the unsung hero award. Aside from these, he’s received over 10 different service awards across a plethora of categories. Apart from his passing in 2020, his daughter currently has taken over the business and continues pushing Mitchell Funeral Home to new heights. Mitchell Funeral Home features various amenities, such as a spacious chapel, reception area, lobby, and browsing garden. They also own a respective floral service arrangement business, titled Mitchell’s Funeral Florist, inc. As Mitchell’s daughter, Kimberly, has been in the business from a very young age, she and the members of Mitchell Funeral Home are experienced in embracing the challenges that follow an unexpected loss.

I was really pleased with the work was done on my father the late Bobby Lee Green the staff was amazing and the process was easy which made things much better especially during a difficult time for me. I’m sorry I’m late writing this review but I couldn’t let another day go bye without thanking such wonderful loving and kind staff that I trusted with my Hero who meant the world to me and you all did such a awesome job no stress just getting the job done and taking good care of the family I’m so pleased and again thank you all.

Zanders Funeral Home

Marvin Clyde Zanders, former owner and founder of Zanders Funeral Home, had a calling for mortician studies his entire life. Directly after completing high school, he would get accepted into the New York School of Embalming and Restorative Art, proceeding with his introductory training at the Mickey and Alleyene Funeral Home. From here, he would go on to open Bruton and Zanders Funeral Home in 1960, which would quickly become just Zanders Funeral Home. Over the years, they would continue to upgrade their facility while providing outstanding service to those in need.

Zanders handled both my parents funerals in 2020. If I could give them 10 stars, I will.  They were so professional even during the pandemic, they serviced my family with the best of care.  I live in Chicago and I WISH Zanders had a funeral home here.  Thank you Helen and your staff for EVERYTHING.

Dobbs Funeral Home

Beginning in 1979, Douglas Dobbs was licensed as a funeral director, where he would work his way up the ranks until 1989 when Dobbs Funeral Home would come into existence. The Dobbs family all showed interest in the business, where they currently reside. As a family-owned business, as well as an independent funeral director, Dobbs places a heavy emphasis on family values and respecting the various customs associated with different religions and cultures.

5Stars should be 10. Doug runs an Honest and Reliable business, helps in every aspect of the process. Thanks

What Questions Do I Ask Funeral Homes In Orlando?

Orlando is filled with quality funeral homes that will fit your need. It’s important to ask a variety of questions to get to know your funeral director, and how they can help you.

Finding Funeral Homes in Orlando is no easy task, as Orlando is filled with quality funeral homes in Orlando that will fit your need. It’s important to ask various questions to get to know your funeral director, and how they can help you. It’s ultimately at your discretion what information you wish to know of your funeral director, but here at Final Expense Benefits, we have a few recommendations.

First of all, accreditation – Are you associated with the Funeral Directors Association? The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice? Although not make or break, we feel as though these may give you a good idea of how involved in the community they are, or how established they’ve become.

Secondly, understand your options. Most funeral homes in Orlando offer packages that are meant to tie key features together effectively cutting costs and streamlining the process. We recommend making sure that you understand your options before making any decisions. On this note, ask what payment plans/methods they utilize and see how this accommodates you.

Finally, Find out what makes their home stand out from other homes in the area, as competition is fierce. Whether their price point is lower relative to what they offer, or possibly their services are more sophisticated than those around them, what have you, it’s important to utilize the fact that competition exists and you may take your benefits elsewhere.

How Do I Pay For A Funeral?

Knowing and planning how your funeral costs will be paid for is also important. Here at Final Expense Benefits, we will not only help you with finding the top funeral home in Orlando, but the right funeral insurance. Whether you are looking at a policy for yourself or a loved one, a funeral insurance policy for seniors will help bring peace of mind. Thankfully you have multiple options other than a standard whole life insurance policy that requires years of preparation to reap the full benefit.

Final Expense Insurance

Final Expense Insurance exists like a whole life insurance policy, although tailored specifically for funeral expenses. These policies offer no medical exam and generally accept all applicants regardless of status. As a result of this acceptance rate, though, your rate may be adjusted based on how much of a risk you are assessed to be. Final Expense Insurance funds are paid out as normal as long as premiums are paid, and contain no restriction on how the funds may be used. This is always a good idea because you don’t have to spend the payout on a funeral if this is unnecessary, making this a very versatile policy.

Preneed Insurance

Preneed insurance, or what is essentially an agreement with your funeral home of choice, maybe a good idea as well. Generally, plans provided by this method of insurance are relatively cheap and offer little to no stress, as all arrangements are carried out by the funeral home when the time comes.

Medigap

Medigap is a policy offered by private organizations in an attempt to cover any gaps left by the inadequate sum given by SSI.  Medigap is a standard policy meant to give you what you pay for, serving an important niche as SSI payments are simply not enough in 2022 considering what inflation has done to the economy.

Survivors Benefits

The hardest to be applicable for, survivor benefits act like SSI although they are given in monthly payments to those that qualify. To qualify, one must either find themselves as a surviving spouse, unexpectedly in the care of a minor, etc.
