Gregory Compeon, formerly the chairman of The Texas Funeral Service Commission, opened the Compeon Funeral Home in 1997 after working in the funeral industry for most of his working life, fulfilling his dream of providing these services to the local community. As of 2015, Compeon Funeral Home was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas Funeral Service Commission, where he would become chair in 2018. He’s also a member of the Texas Funeral Directors Association, The Houston Metropolitan Funeral Directors Association, as well as a member of the East End Chamber of Commerce, and the Knights of Columbus Council. Compeon Funeral Home features a spacious villa accompanied by various chapels and ceremonial locations, all housed in a central hub. As Compeon cares deeply for his community, the focus of this location is a personal connection as well as easing the process for those involved.
Our family recently had funeral services for our father at Compean. From the moment we walked in the staff was so nice and patient with us. Never once did they try to up-sell us. Rosa handled all of our questions and requests with a smile and always in a prompt, efficient manner. She guided us through the entire process and explained everything to us along the way. She coordinated with the National cemetery and from beginning to end my dads funeral was flawless. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Compean and the staff. Thank you for making what was the worst times in our lives a little better knowing we sent our father off in style.

My brother past away in February 2015. I picked this location because it was a peaceful and beautiful funeral home. The staff there were very compassionate.

Beginning by David Pena over 20 years ago, Integrity Funeral Home is a local funeral home providing support to the Houston area. Integrity Funeral Home boasts a spacious patio and accompanying chapel, as well as a plethora of services. These services include things like veteran ceremonies, cremation, grave sites, as well as grief support for an entire year free of charge. They are willing to provide support in person, as well as digitally for any individuals associated with the funeral process.
They were caring and compassionate in all our interactions. Would highly recommend them to other families.

Houston funeral home are filled with quality funeral homes that will fit your need. It’s important to ask a variety of questions to get to know your funeral director, and how they can help you.
Finding Funeral Homes in Houston is no easy task, as Houston funeral home are filled with quality funeral homes in Houston that will fit your need. It’s important to ask various questions to get to know your funeral director, and how they can help you. It’s ultimately at your discretion what information you wish to know of your funeral director, but here at Final Expense Benefits, we have a few recommendations.
First of all, accreditation – Are you associated with the Funeral Directors Association? The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice? Although not make or break, we feel as though these may give you a good idea of how involved in the community they are, or how established they’ve become.
Secondly, understand your options. Most Houston funeral home offer “packages” that are meant to tie key features together effectively cutting costs and streamlining the process. We recommend making sure that you understand your options before making any decisions. On this note, ask what payment plans/methods they utilize and see how this accommodates you.
Finally, Find out what makes their home stand out from other homes in the area as competition is fierce. Whether their price point is lower relative to what they offer, or possibly their services are more sophisticated than those around them, what have you, it’s important to utilize the fact that competition exists and you may take your benefits elsewhere.
Knowing and planning how your funeral costs will be paid for is also important. Here at Final Expense Benefits, we will not only help you with finding the top funeral home in Houston but the right funeral insurance. Whether you are looking at a policy for yourself or a loved one, a funeral insurance policy for seniors will help bring peace of mind. Thankfully you have multiple options other than a standard whole life insurance policy that requires years of preparation to reap the full benefit.
Final Expense Insurance exists like a whole life insurance policy, although tailored specifically for funeral expenses. These policies offer no medical exam and generally accept all applicants regardless of status. As a result of this acceptance rate, though, your rate may be adjusted based on how much of a risk you are assessed to be. Final Expense Insurance funds are paid out as normal as long as premiums are paid, and contain no restriction on how the funds may be used. This is always a good idea because you don’t have to spend the payout on a funeral if this is unnecessary, making this a very versatile policy.
Preneed insurance, or what is essentially an agreement with your funeral home of choice, maybe a good idea as well. Generally, plans provided by this method of insurance are relatively cheap and offer little to no stress, as all arrangements are carried out by the funeral home when the time comes.
Medigap is a policy offered by private organizations in an attempt to cover any gaps left by the inadequate sum given by SSI. Medigap is a standard policy meant to give you what you pay for, serving an important niche as SSI payments are simply not enough in 2022 considering what inflation has done to the economy.
The hardest to be applicable for, survivor benefits act like SSI although they are given in monthly payments to those that qualify. To qualify, one must either find themselves as a surviving spouse, unexpectedly in the care of a minor, etc.
Here at Final Expense Benefits, we believe no one should go without the proper closure to untimely circumstances, and after reading this article, we hope you feel more prepared!
